Fried food is the ?darling? of many people on the table, but many people do not understand the dangers of fried food. The experts called for, we should completely eliminate fried food. After the study found that the dangers of fried foods is very large. If long-term consumption, it has very large harm on human body.

The latest study found that about 35% of heart attack and fried foods have a direct relationship, these shocking figures let us have to pay attention to. Fried foods are welcomed and loved by many people, but these foods are the culprit that is hazardous to your heart health, and will cause a lot of heart attacks and sudden death of heart disease.

In addition, there is one study found that there is large amounts of trans fatty acids in fried foods, the human body the higher intake the amount of this fatty acid, the greater the risk of sudden cardiac death is. This is due to fried foods contain trans fatty acids like garbage blocking your blood vessels, resulting in the emergence of thrombosis. Not only that trans fatty acids will also give you the reduced blood vessel elasticity, blood vessel wall becomes very brittle, Once the thrombus increased, they would have rupture of blood vessels because of the blockage, resulting in the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular accident.

Moreover, experts point out that in our lives all of the nutrients, fats and oils are not easy to digest, such as fried chicken, fried dough fritters and so on, although they can make us feel fullness in a short time, which contains a lot of fat and calories and this will seriously affect human health. And these foods are very difficult to digest; long-term consumption can cause a lot of burden to our body.

And fats and oils are usually relatively hard, which is likely to hurt the soft stomach, if you add too much salt, it will directly stimulate the mucosa of the stomach, causing ulcers. At the same time, experts have warned that if you feel uncomfortable when you are eating a fried food, it means that your gastrointestinal function has been impaired, and you should be treated as soon as possible.

Furthermore, there are many dangers of fried foods, in which the carcinogen is the most dangerous form of harm. Now cancer has become the biggest killer of our human, and the cause of the cancer is beyond the expectations of all of us, in our daily lives, the most like to eat fried foods is the incentive of cancer. You may not know, eat a few French fries will get cancer, and this is not a fairy tale. Studies have found that often eat fried foods, the cancer incidence is much higher than the crowd do not eat fried food.

Therefore, we should eat less fried food or do not eat, in order to our health.

Interest is the source of success. Many people get succeeded because they are doing what they are fond of. Do you like wondering in the game world and make as much cheap GW2 Credits and GW2 Credits sale as you like?

Our Chateau: On Holiday, in Northern California with a Toddler

My dear friend, Jessie sent us her wedding invitation. I hung it on our kitchen board and smiled at it for a month. There is a very short list of people whose weddings I have to attend. Jessie is one of them. Luckily, most of the rest of the list is already married.? Since Lilah still counts as a lap baby (free ticket) we boarded a plane together in Kansas City and headed out for our first girls? weekend in California.?

We touched down in San Jose and fell into the arms of my sister-in-law, Jessica and her husband, Jeff. (Check back soon for a more detailed account of traveling with a toddler.) Jessica and Jeff just moved out to San Jose. So Lilah and I started off our weekend by spending some time in their sweet California home with an orange tree out back. ?You may have read enough of my travel posts by now, to know for family trips I like to blend of the sweet elements of a staycation with the adventures of new places.

Despite all of the exhausting travel from the day before Lilah woke up ready to go at 6:30AM. We cuddled in bed until 7:00AM. The rest of the house was asleep so we set ourselves up on the couch with two cups of coffee (one real and one imaginary) and a couple good books.

When Jessica woke up I laced up my running shoes and took off. My oh my, how I have missed the cool bay area breezes. I watched the fog roll off the hills as I ran five miles without stopping for a breath. It was heavenly.

Lilah and the Pacific, Our Trip to Baker Beach

When I got back Lilah and the yorkie settled down for a nap while Jessica and I got ready. Then we loaded up the car and headed out for our first real destination?Baker Beach. We drove through the telltale vertical hills dotted with magenta and blue houses, down streets that smelled like Eucalyptus, past couples on bicycles, and old Chinese men going for a walk. ?Baker Beach is nestled under the Golden Gate Bridge inside the Presidio. There are two free parking lots at the edge of this fantastic very dog friendly, foggy beach. I buttoned up Lilah?s jacket, tied on my scarf, kicked off our shoes, and we dug our feet deep into the warm sand.?

The water at Baker Beach is too cold for swimming and the rip tides are strong. We walked along the shore and swept Lilah up as the waves crashed in around us. Sometimes we weren?t quick enough and we all got soaked. Lilah thought it was amazing.?

There was a crowd of people near the first entrance so we walked down a little further. Baker Beach is a half mile strip of beach. As you are planning your family trips, you should know as you get closer to the Golden Gate bridge there is a little a nude section on Baker. It?s San Francisco though, so it is cold, and usually all you see is an old man wearing a giant sweater with nothing on bottom. Today, luckily for this shutter bug who was looking for sweet snaps of her daughter, there weren?t any sunbathers, and as we walked closer to the bridge, it was like we were on a private beach with a panoramic view of one of my favorite cities.

?After an hour or so of playing together Lilah walked off alone, Jessica settled down by a post made of drift wood, and we all enjoyed an hour or so of own time with the Pacific. Most of my time was spent watching my daughter enjoy this magical time. Lilah got all of her dad?s looks, and all of my personality. At thirteen months old, she was perfectly content to walk alone and look at the ocean, to run her hands through the warm sand, and smile at all the dogs that passed her way.

Easy Saturday

On Saturday, Lilah slept in.? She was so tired from the beach. I sank back into the four poster bed, enjoyed the breezes coming in from the window, and cherished this moment with my sweet, sleeping daughter at my side. Eventually we rolled out of bed. After my morning run, Jessica made us skinny alphabet pancakes. It was the perfect staycation morning.?

We packed the car back up and drove to Ross? beautiful new home in Fairfield. He has a wonderful California lunch ready for us: salmon, asparagus, and corn on the cob. ?Oh, my word, do I miss eating in California. ?Even Lilah loved the perfectly cooked fish.

I told Lilah it would be a late night with lots of dancing and laid her down for a nap. To my delight she fell asleep and slept for more than two hours. My sweet girl wanted to be ready to live it up.

A Wedding at Ramekins

My friend Jessie has remarkable style, so I knew this was going to be a fabulous wedding. It was already a good start when we got to set the GPS to Sonoma. We pulled into?Ramekins Cullinary School and headed upstairs. Jessie's bridesmaids were getting ready in one of the rooms at the inn, and Jessie and Evan were off taking pictures. Ramekins cooking school is rustic (stone walls, an outdoor fire place), and fun (the railing looks like asparagus), it has a formal ball room, a courtyard where you could sip wine all afternoon, and half dozen rooms where a wedding party could have the perfect wine country weekend. Jessie came back to her room, in her dress, that couldn?t have been a more perfect cloud of movement for her spirited personality. We saw each other and both started crying.

The ceremony took place in the courtyard. It was a hot, sunny day in Sonoma. On my way to the courtyard one of the Ramekins staff asked me I would like a parasol for the sun. Why, yes, I would like a parasol. I?ve never had the opportunity to say that sentence before. I sat with an old friend and his girlfriend. Like everything else with Jessie?s wedding, the ceremony had the warm simplicity of being perfectly thought out. There was a series of readings, splashes of bright colors, poignant reminders that we need to do a better job of recognizing love everywhere, and promises that I knew Jessie and Evan would keep.

As soon as the ceremony was over the wait staff appeared with trays of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Lilah loved the gazpacho and little toasts with figs and jam. I know, she?s not an ordinary one-year-old. I love that about her.? After some appetizers she switched to twirling the parasols in the sun as I caught up with old friends.

After an hour or so we were directed to the ball room. Jessie and Evan had a left present for Lilah at her spot. Dinner, of course, was fantastic: steak, salmon, vegetable risotto, zucchini. Every bite was delicious. After dinner and cake came dancing. The lights changed and the whole group ran out to the dance floor, including my daughter. I don?t know where Lilah learned to dance, but my goodness, my girl has some moves. She threw her arms up in the arm, shook her hips, grabbed people?s hands, and boogied and swayed and had the time of her life. We stayed until she was so tired she was dancing with her eyes closed.?

I kissed Jessie on the cheek. Lilah was asleep before we pulled out of the parking lot.

Sonoma Sunday

Sonoma is delicious. I was so excited to have a day in Sonoma to plan for Lilah and Jessica, both of whom had never been. We started off with brunch in the Sonoma Plaza.? The town of Sonoma is centered around this square park. Jessie and Evan catered brunch, which meant it was fabulous: fresh fruit, lox, croissants, mini egg salad sandwiches, and tons of laughter. ?Jessica took a walk around the plaza passing the cheese shops, craft stores, historic buildings, and half dozen places to stop for a wine tasting. Meanwhile Lilah and I went back for seconds at brunch and visited with Jessie?s friends over pineapple and tomatoes. Oh, how I?ve missed California tomatoes. ?

After brunch I carefully chose three family friendly Sonoma stops within ten minutes of the Plaza. The first of these was TrainTown. TrainTown boasts to have: "The most well developed scale railroad in the Americas!" I believe it. For $5.75 you get a fantastic 20 minute train ride over bridges and through tunnels with a stopover in a very creative miniature town with a petting zoo. If you?re bringing little ones to Sonoma, think about a visit to TrainTown.?

Next, I got to take Jessica and Lilah to our favorite wine country pizzeria, The Red Grape. I have so many good memories of going to Red Grape with my boys.? In fact, this whole trip was strange without them. Red Grape has delicious wine country pizza, a fabulous patio, and of course, a fine wine list. Lilah and I shared a Tuscan Sun which is a red pizza with roasted garlic, fresh spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and black olives, and is topped with feta cheese. Lilah thought it was about the best thing ever.?

I didn?t want to leave Sonoma without taking my sister-in-law to her first wine tasting. So our last stop was a visit to Larson Family Winery. I put the Ergo baby carrier on my back and Lilah climbed in. I?ll write more travel tips for traveling with a toddler, but seriously wine tasting with Lilah in the Ergo on my back should be enough to sell anyone on this fabulous product. The grounds at Larson are lovely, really beautiful views, perfect lawn for playing on, animals to pet, and plenty of reminders that families and dogs are welcome here. Their tasting fee is $5, but it?s waved if you buy a bottle. Their pours were generous and the staff did a good job of reading people to see how much information they wanted. Their Pinot Grigio was our favorite crisp and refreshing, though the chocolate sauce with one of their big reds was also pretty delicious. ?

Adieu

Back at Jeff and Jessica?s I fell into bed. I was exhausted. In fact I fell asleep before Lilah. And so my wonderful sister-in-law tucked us in, and rubbed Lilah?s back until she too drifted off to sleep. When I woke up an hour or so later the room was dark, we were both asleep dreaming dreams of beaches and trains and delicious foods. ?

A giant step in a miniature world: Electrical charge of nano particles measured

ScienceDaily (July 30, 2012) ? Nano particles are a millionth of a millimeter in size, making them invisible to the human eye. Unless, that is, they are under the microscope of Prof. Madhavi Krishnan, a biophysicist at the University of Zurich. Prof. Krishnan has developed a new method that measures not only the size of the particles but also their electrostatic charge. Up until now it has not been possible to determine the charge of the particles directly. This unique method, which is the first of its kind in the world, is just as important for the manufacture of drugs as in basic research.

The process has now been introduced for the first time in Nature Nanotechnology.

In order to observe the individual particles in a solution, Prof. Madhavi Krishnan and her co-workers "entice" each particle into an "electrostatic trap." It works like this: between two glass plates the size of a chip, the researchers create thousands of round energy holes. The trick is that these holes have just a weak electrostatic charge. The scientists than add a drop of the solution to the plates, whereupon each particle falls into an energy hole and remains trapped there. But the particles do not remain motionless in their trap. Instead, molecules in the solution collide with them continuously, causing the particles to move in a circular motion.

"We measure these movements, and are then able to determine the charge of each individual particle," explains Prof. Madhavi Krishnan.

Put simply, particles with just a small charge make large circular movements in their traps, while those with a high charge move in small circles. This phenomenon can be compared to that of a light-weight ball which, when thrown, travels further than a heavy one. The US physicist Robert A. Millikan used a similar method 100 years ago in his oil drop experiment to determine the velocity of electrically charged oil drops. In 1923, he received the Nobel Prize in physics in recognition of his achievements. "But he examined the drops in a vacuum," Prof. Krishnan explains. "We on the other hand are examining nano particles in a solution which itself influences the properties of the particles."

Electrostatic charge of 'nano drugs packages'

For all solutions manufactured industrially, the electrical charge of the nano particles contained therein is also of primary interest, because it is the electrical charge that allows a fluid solution to remain stable and not to develop a lumpy consistency. "With our new method, we get a picture of the entire suspension along with all of the particles contained in it," emphasizes Prof. Madhavi Krishnan. A suspension is a fluid in which miniscule particles or drops are finely distributed, for example in milk, blood, various paints, cosmetics, vaccines and numerous pharmaceuticals. "The charge of the particles plays a major role in this," the Zurich-based scientist tells us.

One example is the manufacture of medicines that have to be administered in precise doses over a longer period using drug-delivery systems. In this context, nano particles act as "packages" that transport the drugs to where they need to take effect. Very often, it is their electrical charge that allows them to pass through tissue and cell membranes in the body unobstructed and so to take effect. "That's why it is so important to be able to measure their charge. So far most of the results obtained have been imprecise," the researcher tells us.

"The new method allows us to even measure in real-time a change in the charge of a single entity," adds Prof. Madhavi Krishnan. "This is particularly exciting for basic research and has never before been possible." This is because changes in charge play a role in all bodily reactions, whether in proteins, large molecules such as the DNA double helix, where genetic make-up is encoded, or cell organelles. "We're examining how material works in the field of millionths of a millimeter."

Syrian air force joins battle for Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (Reuters) - The Syrian military stepped up its campaign to drive rebel fighters out of Aleppo on Monday, firing artillery and mortars while a fighter jet flew over a district the army said it had retaken the day before.

However, opposition activists denied government forces had entered Salaheddine, in the southwest of Syria's biggest city.

Hospitals and makeshift clinics in rebel-held eastern neighborhoods were filling up with casualties from a week of fighting in Aleppo, an commercial hub that had previously stayed out of a 16-month-old revolt against President Bashar al-Assad.

"Some days we get around 30, 40 people, not including the bodies," said a young medic in one clinic. "A few days ago we got 30 injured and maybe 20 corpses, but half of those bodies were ripped to pieces. We can't figure out who they are."

The opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 18 people were killed in the Aleppo area on Sunday out of more than 150 people, two thirds of them civilians, slain across Syria.

Outgunned rebel fighters, patrolling in flat-bed trucks flying green-white-and-black "independence" flags, said they were holding out in Salaheddine despite a battering by the army's heavy weapons and helicopter gunships.

"We always knew the regime's grave would be Aleppo," said Mohammed, a young fighter, fingering the bullets in his tattered brown ammunition vest. "Damascus is the capital, but here we have a fourth of the country's population and the entire force of its economy. Bashar's forces will be buried here."

An unidentified Syrian army officer said on state television late on Sunday that troops had pushed "those mercenary gunmen" completely out of Salaheddine, adding: "In a few days safety and security will return to the city of Aleppo."

EMPTY STREETS

The army's assault on Salaheddine echoed its tactics in Damascus earlier this month when it used its overwhelming firepower to mop up rebel fighters district by district.

Assad's forces are determined not to let go of Aleppo, where defeat would be a serious strategic and psychological blow.

Military experts believe the rebels are too lightly armed and poorly commanded to overcome the army, whose artillery pounds the city at will and whose gunships control the skies.

Reuters journalists in Aleppo have been unable to approach Salaheddine to verify who controls it.

"Yesterday they were shelling the area at a rate of two shells a minute. We couldn't move at all," said an opposition activist, calling himself a spokesman for the "Aleppo Revolution" group.

"It's not true at all that the regime's forces are in Salaheddine. They didn't cross the bridge into Salaheddine from Hamadaniyah."

Warfare has stilled the usual commercial bustle in this city of 2.5 million. Vegetable markets are open but few people are buying. Instead, crowds of sweating men and women wait nearly three hours to buy limited amounts of heavily subsidized bread.

Rebel fighters, many of them from rural areas near Aleppo, still remain in control of swathes of the city, moving around those areas armed with assault rifles and dressed in items of camouflage clothing in an edgy show of confidence.

They were emboldened to strike at Aleppo and Damascus after a July 18 explosion that killed four of Assad's top security officials in a damaging blow at the president's inner circle.

Government forces have reimposed their grip on the capital and are now intent on denying Aleppo to the rebel Free Syrian Army, whose checkpoints in some districts fly the black and white banners of Islamist militants.

With big powers divided, the outside world has been unable to restrain Syria's slide into civil war.

France said it would ask for an urgent meeting of the U.N. Security Council to try and break the diplomatic deadlock on Syria, but gave no indication that Russia and China would end their longstanding policy of blocking measures against Assad.

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said on Sunday attacks on Aleppo were putting the nail in the coffin of Assad's government, showing he lacks the legitimacy to rule.

"If they continue this kind of tragic attack on their own people in Aleppo, I think it ultimately will be a nail in Assad's own coffin," Panetta told reporters.

The deputy police chief of Syria's western Latakia city defected and fled to Turkey overnight with 11 other Syrian officers, a Turkish official said on Monday, adding that another 600 Syrians had arrived in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of Syrian refugees in Turkey to around 43,500.

AFTERMATH OF BATTLE

The United Nations humanitarian chief said 200,000 people had fled Aleppo, only 50 km (30 miles) from the Turkish border, in two days. It was not clear how this estimate had been reached given the difficulties of assessing relief needs in war zones.

"Many people have sought temporary shelter in schools and other public buildings in safer areas. They urgently need food, mattresses and blankets, hygiene supplies and drinking water," said Valerie Amos, the U.N. official.

Cars entering one Aleppo district came under fire from snipers on Sunday and a Reuters photographer saw three bodies lying in the street. Unable to move them to hospital for fear of shelling, residents had placed frozen water bottles on two of the corpses to slow their decomposition in the baking heat.

A charred tank lay in the street. Another had been captured and covered in tarpaulin. Burnt cars could be seen elsewhere, some marked "shabbiha" - a reference to pro-Assad militiamen.

Syria's foreign minister also declared victory on Sunday in the battle for Damascus.

"Today I tell you, Syria is stronger ... In less than a week they were defeated (in Damascus) and the battle failed," Walid Moualem said on a visit to Iran, Assad's closest ally. "So they moved on to Aleppo and I assure you, their plots will fail."

Assad's ruling system is dominated by his minority Alawite sect, an offshoot of Shi'ite Islam, while his opponents are mostly from Syria's Sunni Muslim majority.

The sectarian element in the conflict has raised fears that it could inflame Sunni-Shi'ite tensions elsewhere, particularly in Iraq, Lebanon, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

US Air Force looks to train pilots for hi-tech threats

For over a decade US fighter pilots have become accustomed to "owning the sky" in wars against insurgents who have no air defenses, but now the air force is trying to get back to basics reminding pilots how to fly against a sophisticated enemy.

In the desert outside Las Vegas, the US Air Force is reminding pilots how to fly against an enemy with fighter jets, surface-to-air missiles and satellite jammers.

Traditional combat skills have gotten "a little rusty," said Steve Imonti, a former fighter pilot who helps oversee simulated air battles out of Nellis Air Force Base.

If a pilot goes three years or more without attending the "red flag" mock battles at Nellis, "then you see that rust really start to build up," said Imonti, director of programs and evaluation for the 414th Combat Training Squadron.

American pilots have become adept at precision air strikes in Iraq and Afghanistan, with a handful of planes circling over a single target after receiving a call for air power from troops on the ground.

With the United States withdrawing most of its combat troops from Afghanistan by the end of 2014, senior commanders are anxious for crews to train for operations other than close air support, officials said.

Military leaders want pilots from all the services to spend more time training for large-scale assaults in a "contested environment," where US air superiority is not a given and where batteries of anti-aircraft missiles pose a lethal threat.

"When we pull out of Afghanistan, we will have an increase here" at Nellis, said Colonel Chip Thompson, chief of the vast range just north of Las Vegas where the red flag exercises take place.

"The goal is, I want every lieutenant within his first two years to go to a red flag," he said, instead of the current average of about three years. "So that when you go to war, you've seen it before."

At red flag, pilots on a "blue team" face off against a hostile "red" fleet of fighters that employ tactics drawn from intelligence reports on Iran, China and other potential adversaries.

Instead of insurgents equipped with AK-47s and roadside bombs, the red team is well-armed, with an array of simulated surface-to-air missiles and the ability to jam radar, disrupt radio communications and disable computer networks at a command center.

Although officers insist the red side represents a generic enemy, the scenarios and targets often closely resemble real world armies, particularly Iran.

The red flag exercises started in 1975 after American pilots suffered heavy losses in Vietnam, where the "kill ratio" was 2:1, much worse than in previous conflicts.

Senior officers decided pilots needed more realistic training that would convey the intensity of aerial combat, as statistics showed if airmen could survive their first 10 sorties, their chances of survival dramatically improved.

"When you're flying around and you look over and see a smoke trail coming at you, it's OK to have your pucker factor as long as it occurs at red flag," said Lieutenant Colonel Brian Morrison, deputy commander of the 57th Adversary Tactics Group.

"So that when it actually happens in combat, you're saying, 'I've been there and done this,'" he said.

After the end of the Cold War, the red flag exercises were scaled back, and drills held at bases overseas were scrapped.

But the exercise got a new lease on life starting in 2005, with the Air Force adding mock surface-to-air missiles (SAM) and space and cyber warfare units.

At this month's red flag, young US pilots, along with crews from the United Arab Emirates and Colombia, woke every day to a briefing on a daunting new mission involving dozens of aircraft, including F-15 and F-16 fighters, B-1 and B-52 bombers, A-10 ground attack planes, aerial refueling tankers, unmanned drones and early warning radar aircraft.

In day and night time battles, they faced off against US pilots flying F-15 and F-16 fighter jets painted in camouflage resembling the patterns on Russian warplanes.

The red team pilots are part of dedicated "aggressor" squadrons that work full-time at emulating tactics of potential enemies, based on the latest intelligence analysis from spy agencies.

Commanders are also increasingly adding simulated underground targets to red flag scenarios, officials said, training pilots on techniques that might be required if the United States moves to take out buried nuclear sites in North Korea or Iran.

"Underground targets are becoming more of a factor, especially with Iran, North Korea scenarios," Thompson said. "These are very hard to find, hard to destroy."

MEZZA NORTE - Foodamn!

MERCATO CENTRALE Experience Comes to Quezon City

MEZZA NORTE

UP-AyalaLand Technohub

July 26, 2012 - Mezza Norte, the most awaited food hub from the South (Taguig) comes closer to Quezon City, with the launch of Mercato Centrale's sister hang-out night food market located in the bustling compound of Technohub in Commonwealth.?

Foodie adventurers who travel all the way from the North to Mercato Centrale in Taguig in search of new culinary adventures, the Mercato experience is now coming closer to you.

Just recently, the organizers of the popular Mercato Centrale food market in Bonifacio Global City set up the Mezza Norte night food market at the UP-AyalaLand Technohub along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City to serve the growing late night food community in the North.

Mezza Norte brings together unique food, drink, pastry and dessert finds from home-based businesses in Quezon City like Dadi?s Berd charcoal-grilled chicken, Frisch?s Liquor Ice Cream, Macheesmo burgers, Sober club?s mocktails, Maria?s Ilocos Empanada, Med Chef?s pastries, Amang?s Grill?s chicken and pork isaw - the market will also have the favorite food finds from Mercato Centrale, which include Manangs?s Chicken, Mochiko ice cream-filled mochi balls, Big Bob?s Freshy charcoal-grilled burgers, Merry Moo Artisan Ice Cream, Angus Beef Tapa, Mio Gelati, Bagwang?s thinly-sliced bagnet strips, Carlo?s Kitchen crunchy belly, Chef Resty?s roast beef and more.

?We are very excited to be part of Quezon City food scene!? shares Anton Diaz, co-organizer of Mezza Norte and also the popular food and travel blogger behind www.OurAwesomePlanet.com. ?Mercato has wanted to serve the North, but we were just waiting for the right location for the food market. We think that the UP-AyalaLand Technohub is a perfect location in the North where we can cater to everyone in Quezon City and the surrounding areas.?

"There are a lot of great up-and-coming food entrepreneurs over here, and we want to give them an opportunity to shine in the market.? Adds RJ Ledesma, the other co-organizer of Mezza Norte. ?Among the entrepreneurs we look forward to having in the market are the students from the nearby colleges and universities along with Quezon City-based cooks, chefs and bakers who want to share their recipes with fellow food enthusiasts.?

On top of making new food discoveries, the marketgoers can also enjoy free wi-fi from Globe Tattoo at Home and live acoustic performances.

Mezza Norte will not only limit Quezon City's food choices, in fact it could be a great alternative from fastfoods, food delieveries, and high end food establishments. No ?worries for those who crave during late nights, given that the night food market is open until 3:00 a.m., there's a wide array of meals and culinary treats.
During the premier opening, invited media were supposed to have a taste samples from the food concessionaires, I doubt if these people can manage to do that, the place was totally crowded and booths are selling like hot cakes! The rains didn't even stopped Mezza Norte activities - it was jam-packed with food explorers from fresh faces to loyal customers. :)

Mezza Norte

You can now 'handwrite' your Google searches

22 hrs.

Google has a knack for coming up with features that you never even realized you need until they exist.

Google Handwrite is one of those features.

As Google software engineer Rui Ueyama explains on the official Google blog,?Handwrite is simply?another way to conduct Web searches from your smartphone or tablet.?It means that you can now?write out search terms with your finger instead of tapping them out the good old-fashioned way. (You can still also search using your voice or an image, of course.)

It sounds like a silly feature at first, but?you'll likely fall in love with it after a couple of tries. I most certainly did.

As someone with handwriting so atrocious that I should be a medical professional, I expected that Handwrite would fail to recognize any query I tried. But instead, it flawlessly transcribed three out of every five words, no matter how long or bizarre they were. I tried to trip the feature up by mixing?cursive and block letters, but no dice?? Handwrite still did pretty well. It even worked like a charm when I wrote with my eyes closed and one of my hands?metaphorically?tied behind my back.

I have a hunch that once one gets used to writing things out on a mobile device's screen, it could become a faster to search than good ol' typing.

To try Handwrite yourself, you'll need?an Apple device running iOS 5 or higher, an Android smartphone running Android 2.3 or higher, or an Android tablet running Android 4.0 or higher. If you've got one of those around, open your browser, go to the Google search page and look for the "Settings" button. There you can enable Handwrite.

Once you've done that, you can just tap the new?Handwrite icon any?time you want to scrawl out?your search query. And don't worry, you can still continue using auto-complete in conjunction with Handwrite. Here's how the two work together:

Want more tech news?or interesting?links? You'll get plenty of both if you keep up with Rosa Golijan, the writer of this post, by following her on?Twitter, subscribing to her?Facebook?posts,?or circling her?on?Google+.

Stephen Baldwin talks new faith-based film

By Randee Dawn

He may not be quite as well-known as his "30 Rock" star brother Alec Baldwin, but Stephen Baldwin is still a busy man in the entertainment business. He's now co-starring in a new faith-based film called "Loving the Bad Man," about a woman who decides to forgive the rapist who impregnated her.

"How many times in my walk of faith have I had Christians say to me, 'Well, yeah I believe this, but if that ever happened to me ... what would you do?'" he reflected on TODAY Thursday morning. "A lot of people -- (this movie is) making them re-evaluate who they are in their faith."

Check out what else Baldwin had to say in the clip above.

Signing Kids to Play NCAA Football: From the Perspective of a Teen ...

On today?s Sports Spin, Andy Lee and myself discussed the news of the?University of Washington?signing?14-year-old, Tate Martell, to a football?scholarship.?He accepted it from Steve Sarkisian, the Huskie?s?head coach. Also, Dylan Moses out of Baton Rouge is being sought after by LSU. Wait?what?

The NCAA has completely skipped high school and has gone straight to the playground.?Granted these kids are impressive and for the most part are already sizing up to some college ball players.?But nonetheless, they are children. I couldn?t help but want to see some?tape on these kids, but came across another prodigy player, one who puts?youth recruiting into perspective.

I?m not against prepping our children?for the future, but I do believe this will take it?s toll on these young athletes and add additional pressure to the already competitive fields they play on as teens. Today, parents and coaches tend to set similiar standards in youth sports in an effort to mirror those on the professional playing fields. This just isn?t realistic.

Again, I?m not disregarding the talent of these middle-schoolers, because I?m sure it?s pretty cool to rep a USC or Huskie cap to recess ? but how young is too young? Click the link below to hear one kid?s perspective on the NCAA recruitment of?teens.

How to Move from Invisible to Visible | Jeffbullas's Blog

Geoffrey Rush the Oscar winning actor said he has strived to accomplish two things in his life??Credibility and Visibility?.?How to Move from Invisible to Visible

If you are a job seeker then standing out is important in securing that next job.

Business owners and entrepreneurs need to be noticed to obtain funding and sell their products and services.

To succeed as a musician and artist your work obtains visibility as it is played, displayed and seen.

Authors have the challenge of writing a book that has to stand out in a mountain of 15 million books that will be published in 2012.

Seth Godin recommends ?Purple Cows?

Pick Yourself

We live in an age where we have the means and the machines to self publish and self market. Technology is democratising publishing and marketing.

The Gutenberg press has been superseded by the digital press. The written word has been set free from the confines of time and space.

On a social web ?you don?t need to wait to be picked to publish. You can ?Pick ?yourself?.

No longer do authors have to pitch or beg a publisher. Amazon is providing the platform for self publishing.

The tools and technologies now allow you to publish short form content in an instant. That could be on Tumblr, Facebook or Google+.

Even your smart phone is a publishing machine in your pocket that can publish images and text whether that is on Instagram or Twitter.

Emulate then Innovate

Online video adds to the publishing mix which provides the means to communicate with all the power of face to face communication with all its associated subliminal messages.

The motivating power of face to face communications is not restricted to the boardroom or the town hall. YouTube is leveraging the transmission of skills that cannot be transmitted just with words.

You can?t show someone how to dance with text.

Video transmits the non verbal such as facial expressions, gestures, passion and eye contact where serious magic happens.

Reading and writing are fairly recent inventions whereas face to face communication has been honed by tens of thousands of years of evolution.?What Gutenberg did for writing video is doing for face to face communications.

It allows people to emulate and then innovate.

Radical Openess

The hardest part though is being prepared to open up and expose yourself to the world. Content needs to be set free and giving away your secrets is part of this new paradigm of radical?openness!

Credibility is achieved through the display of your skills via your content whether it is carried by music, words or video. Visibility is achieved by building online tribes and followers and sharing with them ?your ideas.

So what can you do to stand out on a very crowded web?

1. Tap into your passions

Some ?people know from the first awakening of awareness, what they will do for the rest of their life. We all have an inkling of what we love. What keeps you up late at night, what do you read about, what makes you leap into your car and drive for hours?

2. Leverage your innate abilties

What are you good at? Reading, learning, loving, writing, video production, speaking, cooking or running? This is where you start. Along the way you will discover other skills that you didn?t know you had.

3. Build your Soapbox

This can be a Facebook page, Google+, Tumblr or a WordPress blog. My pulpit of choice is WordPress technology, with my own domain and self hosted. It is mine, I own it and I have control.

I like that.

Don?t ?hand over the keys to your house to a social network ?that can cut you off or ask you to leave with an explanation.

4. Start

This is where the rubber hits the road.

I remember reading a blog post on Hubspot and it said even if you aren?t exactly clear on what you should be publishing just start. This could be writing, creating YouTube videos, posting fashion photos, Publishing images of your art or paper folding or creating infographics.

In short create content. Don?t wait for the design and branding to be perfect. The refinement can happen on the journey as the crowd tells you what works and what doesn?t.

Just do it!

The magic is in the movement.

5.?Know your audience

Understand the persona of the audience(s)who you are targeting.Don?t over complicate this, the audience will become clearer over time. You will hear their voice and see their shadows. You will sense what they want.

Just listen.

6. Educate

?How to? articles are always popular. It is the fastest growing category on YouTube. Educate with stories.?A story?s power is twofold. It provides knowledge of how to act and inspiration which is the motivation to act.

Don?t underestimate people?s desire to learn.

7. Inform

In your target niche people want to know what is happening. Keep them up to date with the latest facts, figures and news. Articles that provide insights into the latest industry news will keep your audience coming back for more.

8. Inspire

Show people the potential to change their life and show them a future with potential and let them know that dreams can come true.

A vision is vital.

7.?Stay on topic

We are all tempted to go off on tangents. You need to keep asking yourself ?does my audience want to read about this?. You can try new angles but the crowd will tell you via the retweets, Google plus ones, shares, likes and comments what they like and don?t like.

Focus is vital.

8. Keep it ?simple

As you build knowledge through researching, reading and creating you will be hit with the ?Curse of Knowledge?.

?The better we get at generating great ideas?new insights and novel solutions?in our field of expertise, the more unnatural it becomes for us to communicate those ideas clearly. That?s why knowledge is a curse.?

So keep the message simple and clear of ?industry speak? and acronyms.

9. Market and promote everywhere

Create a brand and presence on the large vibrant social networks. Publish and promote your content from your blog to as many social network platforms as time and resources allow.

Be ?ubiquitous?

10. Build for search engines

Google with its latest updates called ?Panda? and ?Penguin? is valuing unique content that receives social votes, whether that is a ?plus one? on Google, a ?Like? on Facebook or a retweet on Twitter. Use WordPress plugins like ?SEO all in one? or ?Yoast? that create search engine friendly titles, descriptions and tags that make it easy for Google to crawl your site and show up in search engine results.

11. Build your tribes

Tap into the power of reciprocation. Follow people on Twitter and they will follow you back (some of the time). The great content on your homebase (blog) and the essential engagement with your followers will help you build a tribe. Be real and be willing to show the human side of your self.

Open the hood and reveal your secrets and the tribe will leap in.

12. Communicate with multi-media

Everyone learns differently. The younger generation prefers a short video. Baby boomers would rather read an article. The LinkedIn types like powerpoint presentations on Slideshare.

Provide the same content in a variety of media.

13. Hone your writing skills

If you want to write then you need to ?read?. Writing can be learned. The basics are vocabulary, tempting headlines and well structured articles.

Tempting visuals (eg Infographics) will add a little bit of content contagion.

14. Be relentless

I can?t stress too much how important this is. Producing content once a month isn?t going to cut it. It is like flying plane.

Full throttle for takeoff until you reach cruising altitude.

?How About You

Are you visible online? What has worked for you in getting attention? Is it video or is it writing articles and blog posts?

Have you tapped into the power of writing great headlines? Do you need to build a larger and more engaged tribe.

Look forward to hearing your stories.

Hijab: A Different Definition of Freedom | Morocco World News

?And say to the believing women that they cast down their looks and guard their private parts and do not display their ornaments except what appears thereof, and let them wear their head-coverings over their bosoms, and not display their ornaments except to their husbands or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or their brothers? sons, or their sisters? sons, or their women, or those whom their right hands possess, or the male servants not having need (of women), or the children who have not attained knowledge of what is hidden of women; and let them not strike their feet so that what they hide of their ornaments may be known; and turn to Allah all of you, O believers! so that you may be successful.? [Quran, chapter 24, verse 31]

Why Did Allah (swt) Require women to wear Hijab? A question asked by many Muslims and Non-Muslims, and to which the answer does not need much debate, it only needs a tolerant mind that is open to understand the rationale behind such a divine command.

Obviously, the reason behind Allah?s Requirement to Muslim women begins with men. Since the beginning of time, men have used women as sexual objects which they exploit whenever they feel depressed, tired, or simply bored. This latter statement is the conclusion of a research of male behavior conducted by Dr. Susan Fiske, a psychologist at Princeton University, in 2009. Brain scans of 21 heterosexual male participants in this research revealed that when men are exposed to scantily clad women, the part of their brains that lights up is the one associated with tool use, thus perceiving women as a means to an end, which is to fulfill their sexual desire. Moreover, Dr Charles Raison, a Mental Health expert at CNNHealth said in this respect: ?Women should be aware of how they are perceived when wearing provocative clothing, and men shouldn?t let feelings of impersonal sexual longing interfere with their more personal relationships with other women, including female friends. Many men make foolish choices because of sexual attraction.?

Therefore, if men and women are to maintain a healthy relationship within any society, women ought to wear decent clothes that do not provoke such ideas and behaviors from the opposite sex. And isn?t that what Allah (swt) Told Muslim women to do all along in order to preserve them from being seen in such a downgrading way?

Of course, and as the verse mentioned above states, women are allowed to dress as they please around certain categories of people such as their husbands, and maharem* in general (*those men whom they are not permitted to marry.) And as Fadel Soliman, an international speaker and presenter of Islam, said in one of his lectures about Hijab : ?A women has to do ?a temporary closing for her sexuality, so she can be treated as a normal citizen, because men in general see women as sexual objects.?

He also states as an example the story of a Muslim convert in America who decided to wear the Hijab only 4 days after converting. ?Now I feel free? was the answer she gave him when he sounded surprised that she was convinced to wear it in such a short period of time. ?You?ll never understand the emotions of a woman when she?s in a place and someone is stripping her with their eyes. And she can?t do anything about it,? she added. ?Now, for the first time, the remote control is in my hands: This guy for example, is a stranger, I won?t show him anything but my face and hands. That guy, who is one my maharem, I can show him a little bit more: I can show him my hair, my arms?. This is my husband, I can show him whatever I want whenever I want to. This is the first time I can control everything with my remote control. I?m the controller.?

Fadel Soliman also mentioned that Cambridge University came out with a study about two months ago that proved that 75% of the converts to Islam in UK are women. He says: ?I found out that the reason behind this great percentage is that women found their freedom in Islam: Freedom from the oppression of men like Christian Dior, Gucci, Pierre Cardin, and many others who design and decide what a woman wears, what parts of her body to cover and what parts to uncover. And the woman is turned into such a low object for the pleasure of men, while Islam states clearly that women shouldn?t be used as such because they weren?t made to be one in the first place.?

I would like to conclude by saying that when a woman is covered, she welcomes the other to perceive her as a mind, a soul, a person, and not as a piece of meat ready to be consumed whenever, wherever, and by whomever!
