In this list of plot developments for Happy Endings' new season, we hear about Alex and Dave, and Penny getting a real relationship, but all we get about Max (Adam Pally) is that he doesn't like Penny's new boyfriend.
Do you ever feel phantom vibrations from your cell phone? They drive me crazy, but evidently they're pretty common. But nobody knows what causes them. Some think it's stray electrical impulses, which is frightening, but others think it's our overloaded brain misinterpreting other stimuli.
Hello, tailor: Teen Wolf 101. This is one of those things you stumble across (when tweeted by Jeff Davis, Teen Wolf's creator) that you wish you had written.
Margaret Cho took the stage on the National Mall over the weekend, and spoke about the AIDS crisis, marriage equality, and the Boy Scouts. "Being queer myself and knowing that marginalization happens anyway, when you have that negative image reinforced by long-established [groups] like the Boy Scouts or anything ? you think there's something wrong with you and you should sort of suffer in silence, it's really terrible."
A South Korean man claims that his dog has given birth to a kitten. Which is how they plan to infiltrate the homes of upstanding dog owners.
In case you missed it, the House passed the Defense Appropriations act with the Rep. Steve King amendment explicitly outlawing marriage ceremonies on military bases. Now we have to rely on the Senate to strip that piece of hate out of the bill.
How would you like to get lost in some books, literally?
The Henson Company has announced that they're ending their deal with Chik-Fil-A over the company's anti-gay activities, and will donate the money they made off the company to GLAAD. I knew the creators of the Muppets were good people.
San Diego Pride had uniformed military members marching in the parade for the first time anywhere. If you read the comments, very few are good or bad about the service members marching, but instead focused on the local paper's hard turn right since prop 8 supporter Doug Manchester bought it.
The school board in Ross County, Ohio has settled with a 15-year-old who was the target of anti-gay bullying, culminating in his severe beating, which was taped and uploaded to YouTube. The student and his family will be receiving up to $30,000, and the ACLU, who represented them, receiving $5,000 in attorney fees.
Penn State has decided to remove the statue of Joe Paterno from outside their football stadium. And the NCAA is holding a press conference today to announce "unprecedented penalties" against the university.
My friends over at the New Civil Rights Movement have the list of out athletes in this year's Olympic Games, along with their Facebook, Twitter, and competition schedules. It makes a handy cheat sheet.
The gay social media app Grindr came to a screeching halt in London, and one tabloid is saying the arrival of the Olympic athletes all logging on at once caused it. It's a fun story, but with only three out male athletes, probably unlikely.
Martin Cizmar is an adult, an Eagle scout, and utterly disgusted with the Boy Scouts position on gays. He recently sent back his Eagle Scout medal to protest the policies with a letter that's worth reading.
Evidently the Spice Girls will perform at the London Olympics, at the closing ceremony.
Electronic Arts, who Consumerist says is the most hated company in America, joined a growing list of companies filing an amicus brief opposing the Defense of Marriage Act in a case in the Ninth Circuit. "DOMA presents a number of problems for businesses like EA, as it creates regulatory, tax, and discrimination complications for employers, and that's why we're standing against it. The underlying lawsuit impacts all employers no matter how big or small, and no matter the industry, and we encourage other business to join these efforts." Sounds oddly like a Republican reason to oppose DOMA.
